For Dressipi, data mining and statistical modelling are the keystones to predict customer behavior and intent, analyse which clothes will look great on a customer and answer questions through Amiya (our new chatbot).
As a Data Scientist in the Dressipi team, you will be responsible for designing and improving our recommendation algorithms and models. Your work will directly impact end consumers in the form of personalising shopping journeys and communications, both instore and online.

Apply data-mining, machine learning and/or graph analysis techniques for a variety of modeling and relevance problems involving customers, their relationships and their fashion preferences
Build scalable, statistical models that learn from large volumes of data
Build and release models that elevate the customer experience and track impact over time
Carry out regular as well as deep-dive data mining and interpret the results
Define metrics, understand A/B testing and statistical measurement of model quality
Understand and leverage crowdsourcing and human computation approaches to data labeling
Monitor and test data quality and integrity throughout all stages of acquisition and processing
Translate business goals to data questions and solve them
Collaborate with colleagues from engineering, retail and business backgrounds.
Present proposals and results in a clear manner backed by data and coupled with actionable conclusions
Masters or PhD in a relevant field (computer science, data mining, machine learning, statistics, math, engineering) etc.
Solid SQL skills and a scripting/programming language such as Python/R/Java/C
Experience with statistical modelling/machine learning
Track record of diving into data to discover hidden patterns
Ability to develop experimental and analytic plans for data modeling processes, use of strong baselines, ability to accurately determine cause and effect relations
Understanding of relevant statistical measures such as confidence intervals, significance of error measurements, development and evaluation data sets, etc.
The creativity and tenacity to solve hard and diverse problems
The will and ability to pick up new technologies and approaches as required
Comfortable working in a fast paced, highly collaborative work environment
Strong attention to detail
2 or more years of industry experience
Additionally of benefit are: knowledge of recommender systems, ability to write production-quality code, mongodb, Ruby
